Patient Advice And Liaison Service
The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) has been established to ensure that patients receive support and information when they need it. The service provides confidential support, information about NHS treatment and services, advice on how to resolve queries and information about voluntary agencies. Our PALS officers are Linda and Jackie and they can be contacted during normal office hours.
Confidentiality
The practice is registered with the Data Protection Act and takes seriously its duty to protect confidential information. All practice staff are bound by a confidentiality clause and are trained in, and regularly reminded of, the arrangements for keeping patient information private.
In accordance with the Data Protection Act, and the Access to Medical Records Act, you are entitled to see your own clinical records. Notice must be given, and an appointment may be made, by telephoning the practice manager. An administration fee may be involved and any photocopies of records will incur a charge.
Comments & Suggestions
We are keen to provide the best service possible and are pleased to receive comments and suggestions.
Complaints Procedure
The practice operates a complaints procedure that complies with current national guidelines. If you have a complaint, or any constructive criticism, please ask to speak to, or write to, the practice manager. Most complaints are resolved within the practice but if you are dissatisfied with the outcome of local resolution, you will find details of where to seek further advice in a copy of the Practice Complaints Procedure, which can be obtained from reception.
Violence And/Or Abuse
Patients will be treated with respect and courtesy by all members of the practice and are expected to afford the same level of respect and courtesy to all members of the team. Please be aware that verbal or physical abuse will not be tolerated.
Freedom Of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information the practice intends to routinely make available.
This scheme is available on request.
