Clinics
We hold a number of clinics at the surgery for particular patient groups.
Antenatal
Run by the midwife on Tuesday afternoons (new bookings) each week. Patients are seen by appointment and a doctor is available if necessary.
Asthma
Run by our practice nurse, Carole Tonks, on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Appointments are necessary.
Diabetes
Run by our senior practice nurse, Carole Tonks.
Family Planning
We offer a full range of contraception services provided by the doctors during surgery hours.
Cervical Screening
Clinics are run by our practice nurse, Sheldron, on Friday mornings. Appointments are necessary.
Minor Surgery
The practice undertakes minor surgery for warts, lumps and bumps etc. Clinics are arranged to meet demand.
CHD Management and Weight Management
Clinics for these are also offered - please ask a receptionist for details.
Phlebotomy
Blood tests are carried out between 8.30 - 11.50 am Monday to Friday and are by appointment only. Advice regarding preparation for your blood test (eg fasting) will be given at the time an appointment is made. An additional clinic is held on Wednesday mornings for patients on anti-coagulants who need regular monitoring. Occasionally, blood samples need to be tested within a short time of being collected, in which case, you may be asked to attend Bassetlaw Hospital for your blood test.
Foreign Travel
Our practice nurses will provide information about overseas travel and vaccinations. We have a computer system with comprehensive details about safety, disease risks and drug requirements. We are registered as a Yellow Fever Centre for that particular vaccine.
Please make appointments in sufficient time to allow the range of vaccines to be given. Eight weeks should be sufficient.
Flu Vaccinations
We recommend flu vaccinations each year for patients over 65, those with chronic conditions such as asthma, heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and residents of residential nursing homes. Please contact the surgery in September to obtain details of the yearly programme.
